POLL SHOWS DREAM TICKET “BUMP”

WASHINGTON, DC--Adding Senator Hillary Clinton to the Democratic slate would create a dream ticket bump for Senator Barack Obama, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.  In a matchup between the Obama-Clinton dream ticket and a McCain-Romney tour de farce, Democrats command a nine point advantage among registered voters, adding three points to Obama’s advantage over McCain.

“There is a ‘dream ticket’ bump,” said VoteBoth.com founder Adam Parkhomenko.  “Adding Hillary to the ticket would give Barack Obama a general election landslide.”

They're called "dream tickets" because teaming top rivals is seen as a way to unite the party, and the Kennedy-Johnson ticket generally is cited as a model. This year, buzz centers on whether Obama will pick New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Democratic rival who ended her primary campaign Saturday. A website called VoteBoth.com, boosted by Clinton supporters, promotes the idea.

The NY Observer: Hillary for VP

Hillary for VP

Having waged an historic and thrilling primary battle for the Democratic presidential nomination, Senator Hillary Clinton has transformed the American political landscape and transformed herself from an eminent senator from New York into a coast-to-coast electoral powerhouse, earning votes from 17 million citizens. The respect she earned from those voters is matched by the respect she earned from the heavyweight contenders—Joe Biden, John Edwards, Bill Richardson, Chris Dodd—whom she left gasping for air on the mat as the primary season unfolded.

Even if there's little evidence for rumors that Hillary Clinton is positioning herself to be Barack Obama's running mate, this week's newest poll suggests voters have somewhat latched on to the idea.

Miss K: Who to vote for now? Voteboth.com!

The primary season is finally over. That better not mean that my favorite show, The Colbert Report, suddenly gets boring…

(Note: if you are a staunch Republican you might just want to skip this post…)

I stopped savoring the political news as much when Edwards dropped out of the race and my time as a campaign volunteer came to a close. Definitely an experience I’ll never forget and never regret!

I was proud to be able to vote for my man in the SC primaries.

Unity ticket: dream ticket or nightmare?

Now that Obama has locked up the nomination, and everyone's attention turns to the choice of running mate, I've been making daily visits to voteboth.com to see if there is anything new on possible support for an Obama-Clinton "unity / dream ticket." (I would have preferred Clinton-Obama, but that's no longer an option.) There is some question, however, about whether or not Hillary actually wants the second spot.
